Spirulina Smoothie

After I’m done bingeing holiday food, all I want is something that is light, fresh and detoxing. Spirulina is the perfect detoxifier to start incorporating where I can, it’s an anti-inflammatory, helps fight & prevent cancer, rich in protein, loaded with antioxidants, aids in digestion, anti-aging, increases energy, and so much more.

There are a few ways you can incorporate it, you can make energy balls, a little spirulina shot, popsicles, bowls. Since I usually make a morning smoothie, I thought it would be the perfect place for me to incorporate it. I have to say, I know green smoothies are beneficial, but I’m not always the biggest fan. This one though, this one is my favorite and it doesn’t taste like a typical green smoothie.

Spirulina Smoothie

  • Servings: 1-2
  • Difficulty: easy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1 apple
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon spirulina
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend
  2. Enjoy
